Meet The Maker

CAN Period didn't begin as a brand idea. It began as a commitment to an important cause. As a new hospital foundation director on Kauaʻi, I was thrown into high-stakes fundraising with big goals and real doubt. My confidence was shaky and the goals were enormous. During a goal setting meeting a local phrase was echoed, "If can, can. If no can, no can," and something clicked. It was powerful, but we needed more than "if." I knew the value of a cue word in pivotal moments. So we leaned fully into CAN, with a giant period: CAN Period. No hedging. Just commitment. I wrote it on a 3x5 card with a $2 million goal and stuck it on my dashboard. We exceeded every goal and defeated every CAN’T. My wife, Angie, suggested putting it on shirts, and a rallying cry became a brand. Today, CAN. is everyday apparel built on a simple, powerful belief. - Andy Bestwick
